The synoptic situation does not allow to artificially cause rains - Ukrhydromettsentr

The Ukrainian hydro-meteorological center estimates that in Ukraine today, precipitation is unlikely to artificially cause forest fires.

This was announced during a briefing by the deputy director of the Ukrainian hydrometeorological center Anatoly Prokopenko, reports a correspondent of Ukrinform.

“In the world there is such a practice – the challenge of precipitation, but for this, of course, we need both technical means and the state of a synoptic situation, which would allow precipitation to occur from the clouds that exist. Currently, in principle, in the near future such a situation is unlikely, “he said.

As indicated, in the Chernobyl area and in the Zhytomyr region, the extinction of the sources of decomposition of dry grass, hemp and wood after the forest fires continues. In the Chernobyl area, a fire broke out on April 4.

In the Zhytomyr region, according to the State Emergency Ministry, soil covers and stumps of grass are incubating in the forests of Vystupovitsky and Berezhest over an area of about 3,000 hectares. April 16 near the village. Rudnya and with. Vypudovichi in the territory of Vypudovitsky forestry, there was an inflammation of dry grass and forest litter. Subsequently, the fire spread to other villages – Ostrov, Devoshin, Zhurba, Magdin and Lichmany in the district of Ovruch, destroying around 40 houses. In addition, the fire spread to forest plantations, as a result of which fires occurred in the state enterprise “Slovechansky agro-food forestry”, the state enterprise “Ovruch specialized forestry”, the state enterprise “Slovechansky forest”, the state enterprise “Ovruch forestry”.

A preliminary investigation has been opened in criminal proceedings into the destruction of forests in the Ovruch district (part 1 of article 245 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Due to massive fires and slow combustion in the Kiev region, air pollution by several indicators exceeds the maximum allowable concentration. People are advised not to open windows.
