The Orthodox Church of Ukraine expressed its gratitude to the Cabinet of Ministers for reducing the quarantine of religious organizations and invited believers to the churches, but respecting anti-epidemic measures.

“We express our gratitude to the Cabinet of Ministers for having taken into account the main proposals of the Pan-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations and, in particular, the appeal of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Metropolitan Ukraine of Epiphanes concerning the introduction of such an approach to the organization of religious events during adaptive quarantine, which will balance the need to protect the population from the spread of the disease and the needs of religious communities in achieving their immediate goal “, according to the report.

The UCP noted that they were waiting for believers in churches to worship with joy, but asked to deal consciously and responsibly with the spread of a dangerous illness and to continue to be guided by caution, l love and respect, caring for their own health and that of their neighbors.
As noted, at a government meeting on June 3, it was decided to gradually lift the quarantine restrictions.

In particular, according to the amendments, from June 5, religious events and open-air cults are authorized, provided that the physical distance between those present is at least one and a half meters, as well as a maximum of one person per 5 square meters of building area, if it is a religious event. held inside.
