In 2020, World Day for Safety at Work is dedicated to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

“April 28 is World Labor Protection Day. It is celebrated every year in Ukraine. In 2020, World Labor Protection Day is dedicated to the fight against the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic”, indicates the communicated.

The organizing committee for the preparation and conduct of Labor Protection Day in Ukraine in 2020 with the participation of representatives of Gostrud, ministries, other central executive bodies, the International Labor Organization in Ukraine , the Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine and trade unions and employers has prepared useful recommendations for state authorities, local self-government authorities, employers, unions, the media, leaders and employees of companies, institutions and organizations.

Among the recommendations for the checklist of activities that the International Labor Organization provides to employers are:

– development of a preparation and intervention plan for the prevention of COVID-19 in the workplace, taking into account all the areas of work and tasks performed by employees and potential sources of infection;

– creation within the company of a system making it possible to provide employees with relevant and reliable information on the evolution of the situation with COVID-19;

– Encourage remote working for non-key employees in order to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. If teleworking is practically impossible, enter the changes to avoid a large concentration of workers in the facilities.

– development of a possible action plan in the event that a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 is detected in the company, which includes, among other things, notification, control and disinfection in accordance with national directives.

A comprehensive checklist is a management tool for implementing practical measures to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the workplace.

As reported, at 9 a.m. on April 28 in Ukraine, 9,410 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 239 were fatal, 992 patients recovered. 401 new cases were recorded per day.
