The Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Alexander Tkachenko in Paris, met the director of the National Center for Arts and Culture named after Georges Pompidou Bernard Blistenom.

“We discussed with the director the possibility of holding exhibitions of Ukrainian authors on a regular basis. Now they have an idea of ​​collecting works by contemporary artists. They were interested in the possibility of cooperation with the future Museum of “modern art in Kiev. The ministry plans to create such a museum, so we will turn to French colleagues for the experiment”, – wrote Tkachenko.

According to him, the Center Pompidou cooperates quite actively with the Ukrainians. At the beginning of this year, a retrospective of Sergey Loznitsa was presented at the museum, several of his films were screened. Also, as part of the #SaveOlegSentsov campaign in 2018, the film “Process” on Oleg Sentsov was screened.

The Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Alexander Tkachenko, also met the President of the Louvre, Jean-Luc Martinez, who is interested in the ancient history of Ukraine. “We have agreed that he will go to Kiev as soon as possible, where, in particular, we will discuss cooperation for the organization of an exhibition of Ukrainians at the Louvre. There is already such an experience. about 8 years ago, an exhibition by Ukrainian sculptor Johann George Pinzel took place at the Louvre, “said Tkachenko.

“In addition, we discussed several common business ideas. On how to promote Ukrainian culture in France and the Louvre brands in Ukraine. And they will also add the Ukrainian language to their audio guides,” added the minister.

According to Tkachenko, at the meeting, they also agreed to exchange experiences on how to overcome the crisis in the cultural sphere.

As Ukrinform indicated earlier, the Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Alexander Tkachenko, who is visiting Paris on Friday as part of the Ukrainian delegation, held his first meeting with the president of Versailles, Mrs. Catherine Pegar.
