A $ 6 million bribe to the head of the office of the specialized anti-corruption prosecutor Nazar Kholodnitsky and the NABU leadership has been offered to close the file on former Minister of Natural Resources Nikolai Zlochevsky .

This was declared by the director of the National Anti-Corruption Office Artyom Sytnik during a briefing on Saturday, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.

“The case was investigated by the GPU, and then when the office of the attorney general lost the function of investigating authority, the cases began to be transferred to the NABU. in one of these cases, suspicions were announced to the former minister, Mr. Zlochevsky, “said Sytnik.

He added that to date, the investigation into the Zlochevsky case has been halted as part of the search for the suspect.

Three people were arrested in a bribe case. The NABU chief pointed out that $ 6 million represents a record amount of the bribe offered in the history of Ukraine.

As noted, detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine documented on June 12 that a former senior official of the previous government had given a bribe of $ 6 million to the head of the office of the specialized anti-corruption prosecutor. corruption Nazar Kholodnitsky and the leadership of NABU for closing the case against him.

Nikolai Zlochevsky left Ukraine in late 2014 after receiving the status of suspect of illegal enrichment. In January 2015, the GPU put him on the wanted list. In the fall of 2016, the former minister’s research information and statistics card was removed from the Home Office’s website. Information about the end of the search was provided on the basis of a decision sent by the Attorney General to quash Zlochevsky’s search.
