Transplant in India: the head of the Ministry of Health spoke of Ukrainians “stuck” in the clinic
The Ministry of Health monitors the treatment process for Ukrainian citizens abroad and all delays in treatment, particularly in India, are associated with restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was announced during a briefing on June 6 by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“The Ministry of Health now controls everything that happens in our country, including abroad. Each patient is important to us, and no matter where they are treated. Speaking specifically of India, there is now seven patients, two of whom are hospitalized treatment, five others on outpatient treatment. These delays are due to the pandemic, due to restrictions that were in India. We are constantly in touch with the clinic where our patients are being treated, ” said Stepanov.

He noted that now some changes have already taken place regarding the acceleration of the provision of medical care to Ukrainian patients in India, and after the lifting of quarantine measures in that country, the transplant, which is expected by Ukrainian patients, will be performed as quickly as possible.
Stepanov also noted that the Ministry of Health will pay special attention to transplantation – a separate unit will be created which will deal with transplantation and treatment abroad. He stressed the importance of the development of transplantation in Ukraine, because in Ukraine everything is necessary for this.
