Tsymbalyuk: Ukraine to receive IAEA equipment to detect COVID-19 by the end of the month
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will send equipment to detect COVID-19 coronavirus infection in Ukraine by the end of May.
This was stated in an interview with the correspondent of Ukrinform by Yevgeny Tsymbalyuk, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna.
“Ukraine expects to receive such equipment (equipment to detect COVID-19 from the IAEA – ed.). As far as I know, it has already been determined for Ukraine. already bought from Austrian and German companies. Now, for us, this is the most relevant, “he said.
According to the Ukrainian diplomat, only logistical problems remain to be resolved at the moment, “which, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, are still functioning a little worse”.
“By the end of May, the equipment should be sent to Ukraine,” he said.
Tsymbalyuk noted that the IAEA also assumes all of the delivery costs. The Ukrainian side, for its part, determined the recipient of this assistance – “there is a specific address, telephone numbers, contact persons”.

“In addition, we hope that the IAEA will send us additional assistance in future batches, such as test equipment, portable fluoroscopes, etc. Now our mission expects from the Ministry of Health additional specific posts, including Ukraine needs it. Then we will also hand it over to the IAEA and we will wait for help in these areas, “said the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna.
