Ukraine and Poland explore possibility of seasonal workers agreement – MAE
Ukraine and Poland will endeavor to restore regular transport links and to coordinate the issue of simplifying procedures for obtaining work visas.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine following a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister Vasily Bodnar with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland Bartosz Czycko.
“Given the dynamics of border traffic in recent days, Ukraine and Poland will endeavor to restore regular transport links. In this context, questions will also be agreed on the simplification of procedures for obtaining visas for work and crossing of the common border by citizens, “the statement said.
It should be noted that the parties are considering the possibility of concluding an agreement in the field of employment of seasonal workers, which will resolve the urgent problems of the stay of Ukrainian migrant workers in Poland.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stressed that after a certain suspension of interactions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it is necessary to restore bilateral cooperation in all areas. And the starting point is the holding of a meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which will help revitalize trade between countries.
In the near future, a regular meeting of the Joint Consultative Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Poland on the education of representatives of the Ukrainian national minority in Poland and the Polish national minority in Ukraine will also be held, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Bartosz Tsykhotsky presented a collection of scientific articles “Ukraine and Poland: the paths of interstate relations” published by the Polish Institute in Kiev in collaboration with the Scientific Society for the History of Diplomacy and International Relations, as well as the Ukrainian History Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Ukrainian-Polish diplomatic relations. .
