The Cabinet of Ministers has introduced a number of changes to the conditions for registering and receiving unemployment benefits. From now on, an application for the granting of unemployment status can be made remotely – by e-mail or via the online service portal “Diya”.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture.

“During the quarantine, the government introduced a number of legislative changes which considerably simplified the conditions for registering with the employment service and receiving unemployment benefits for this period. Firstly, it is possible to submit requests for unemployment status and unemployment benefits remotely, i.e. to the email of the job center or via the online portal of State services “Diya,” said the statement.

The press service recalled that the minimum unemployment benefit for the quarantine period and within 30 days after its completion was increased from 650 to 1000 UAH.

In addition, unemployment benefits registered for the unemployed are granted from the first day of receipt of the status, even to those who were dismissed during quarantine of their own free will (before quarantine of those who left voluntarily, the assistance was paid from the 91st day of receipt of the statute).

It is emphasized that employers of small and medium-sized enterprises who have suspended or reduced their activities during quarantine may receive assistance in the event of partial unemployment to cover the cost of wages of workers who have reduced working hours.

Current legislation does not set deadlines for the registration of a citizen in the Public Employment Service after dismissal. But to receive assistance taking into account the salary at the last place of work, you must register within 6 months after the dismissal.

As reported by Ukrinform, new jobs in Ukraine can now be created during the implementation of the Big Construction project and in the social field.

This was discussed at a workshop chaired by the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Igor Petrashko and the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov on the initiative of the Prime Minister to create 500,000 additional jobs.
