In Ukraine, they wish to temporarily restrict or prohibit the entry of foreign citizens and vehicles from countries where there are particularly dangerous infectious diseases.
This conclusion on the draft law on the protection of the population against the spread of infectious diseases was adopted by the Committee on the Integration of Ukraine into the EU at an extraordinary meeting, reports the press service of the Verkhovna Rada.
“The Verkhovna Rada commission is proposing to the Rada to adopt a bill on the possibility for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to set deadlines or a ban on the entry into Ukrainian territory of foreign citizens, as well as vehicles in from countries (localities) where particularly dangerous infectious diseases are recorded, as well as prohibiting the departure of citizens of Ukraine from the territory of Ukraine, “said the Committee in a resolution.
The bill is supposed to be seen as those who have visited countries with particularly dangerous infectious diseases, those who have come into contact with a patient with a particularly dangerous infectious disease and sent them to a specialized institution when crossing of the national border. In the absence of reasons for hospitalization, these people must consent to anti-epidemic and preventive measures, to self-isolation or isolation.
“In accordance with the decision of the Committee: the bill does not contradict the objectives of the association agreement, because it aims to protect the population against the spread of infectious diseases, in particular COVID-19, at the same time as it must be refined taking into account Ukraine’s international legal obligations and in order to provide it is in accordance with international health rules that Ukraine must implement in accordance with the association agreement, ”notes the committee.
As Ukrinform reported, since March 12, Ukraine has introduced quarantine in educational institutions and a number of other measures to control the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection.

On March 25, an emergency was introduced across Ukraine. Quarantine extended until April 24.
Closed commercial facilities, except for grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations and banks. Work on the Kiev, Kharkov and Dnipro metros was also halted, interurban and interregional automobile, railway and aviation services were halted.
A total of 6,125 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine, of which 161 were fatal, 367 patients have recovered. 415 new cases were recorded per day.
