Ukraine needs national standards for medical services – Minister of Health
Every medical service provided by Ukrainian health facilities should be standardized, said the head of the Ministry of Health Maxim Stepanov.
Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
“In my opinion, in addition to funding, first of all, other indicators should be considered a successful institution – it is the number of cases fully healed, including the death rate that exists in a particular hospital, the length of stay in hospital. These criteria should be clearly defined. “How are they determined? They are determined, in my opinion, by standards of medical care in the context of a particular case. Each service needs to be standardized, what the state pays for and what you and I get, “said Chapter M health.

He stressed that these national standards should be approved at the state level and based on national treatment protocols.
“And that’s normal, it’s done by any self-respecting state. It’s all we don’t have, there is no national standard,” said Stepanov.

According to Ukrinform, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said that by June 1, hospital funding will be introduced at 2019 levels, the main purchaser of medical services remains the NHA.
