Ukraine to receive 320,000 additional doses of medication for patients with COVID-19

The Ministry of Health will receive humanitarian aid, namely medicines containing the active substance Hydroxychloroquine, included in the national treatment protocol COVID-19.

This was announced by the Ukrainian Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov, according to the press service of the Ministry of Health.

“The Ministry of Health is doing everything it can to fight the coronavirus as effectively as possible. So we turned to the manufacturers and asked them to provide us with humanitarian assistance. This amount of medication is sufficient to treat more than 22,000 patients with COVID-19 … This medication is prescribed in our protocol for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 and is used for severe patients exclusively in hospitals, as well as under supervision of physicians and with the written consent of patients. It will be free for patients who really need it for medical reasons, ”said Stepanov.

It should be noted that the companies “Sanofi” and “Sandoz” will deliver to Ukraine 320,000 tablets of this drug, which are designed to treat more than 22,000 patients.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health reported that the drug Sanofi plaquenil (with the active substance Hydroxychloroquine) had already been distributed between the health services of regional state administrations and Kiev, with additional admission to health facilities “first wave” to receive patients infected with a coronavirus. The delivery and distribution of the drug “Hydroxychloroquine” from the company “Sandoz” are expected early next week.

Preparations containing the active substance Hydroxychloroquine are used in several countries to treat patients with COVID-19.
