Ukraine will buy drugs on more favorable terms – Stepanov
The Ministry of Health negotiates with international organizations through which Ukraine purchases medicines for patients with cancer, HIV, AIDS, hepatitis, hemophilia and other diseases for public funds, in order to modify the conditions of purchase.
This was announced during a briefing by Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“With regard to purchases from international organizations (drugs purchased for public funds for cancer patients, HIV, AIDS, hepatitis, hemophilia and other diseases – note), a change in the algorithms is underway. Negotiations are underway with international organizations through which the purchase of drugs is currently underway. There are three of these organizations. I think we can start buying on more favorable terms for Ukraine, “said Stepanov.
According to him, Ukraine can obtain these drugs under different conditions than before.

“We transferred all the funds that we determined for the public procurement of all the programs to international organizations, then after a year or a half, we received medicines, respectively. It seems to me that we can switch to other algorithms when we advance a part and pay the rest after the delivery of these drugs, or not advance at all, but pay after delivery, “said the Minister.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Ministry of Health has announced the debt of international organizations for the supply of medicines worth 5.3 billion UAH.
