Ukraine has gone through a crisis in the supply of medical supplies and doctors are protected four weeks in advance.

This was stated by the deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine, secretary of the Coordinating Council to combat the spread of COVID-19, Kirill Tymoshenko, according to the PO website.

“We have gone through a crisis phase. Doctors are now protected four weeks in advance. Individual videos appear. But it is not because the products are not supplied. There may be some sort of internal logistics problem in Ukraine. But we brought and supplied all the doctors. We have been through this crisis – that was our main task, ”he said.

Tymoshenko noted that in April, the state had delivered 1.3 million special respirators, more than 200,000 disposable coveralls, and 250,000 PCR tests from China and South Korea to Ukraine. .

According to him, this objective was achieved thanks to the coordinated work of the Coordination Council on Combating the Spread of COVID-19 at the office of the President of Ukraine, which was to be created a month and a half ago in the lack of protective equipment in Ukrainian hospitals. “Not only has Ukraine been confronted with this situation. In all European countries, there were not enough means of protection, ”noted Tymoshenko.

The deputy head of the presidential office said that at the first stage, Ukraine had contracted the delivery of the necessary protective equipment to doctors from China, but that it was a one-time supply of this which was missing.

Tymoshenko noted that the so-called airlift was subsequently established, which allowed the delivery of medical supplies on a continuous basis. The first type of such cargo is humanitarian aid to Ukraine, which was purchased at the expense of Ukrainian companies from special funds. The second type is the means of protection that the company has purchased as humanitarian aid for the regions of its base. The third type is that of goods delivered on commercial demand, including pharmacy chains and retailers. In this case, the state redirected requests to the airlines with which the company had commercial relationships.

Tymoshenko added that at the same time, one of the government’s demands for airlines was to provide businesses with the lowest possible cost of transportation to fill the mask market.

“Remember how much a month ago masks cost – 20-25 hryvnias. Today the price is eight to 11 hryvnia per mask. The price has halved. Why? Because we have enabled the market to be filled quickly and actively. It was full – the price started to drop, ”said the deputy head of the presidential office.

In addition, Tymoshenko pointed out that in a month the government launched the national production of reusable suits and started the production of Ukrainian PCR tests. Today, 600,000 of these tests have already been shipped and there are still plans to deliver 1.4 million units.

At the same time, as Tymoshenko said, in the future, the necessary funds will be purchased by the structures of the Ministry of Health and handed over to replenish the reserves. This is necessary in the event of a new outbreak of infection in the population with an infectious disease.

Tymoshenko also pointed out that at the start of the crisis, there was a logistical problem with the centralized delivery of medical products to regions of Ukraine. Now the system is in place, which means that after the plane has arrived in half a day, all the freight can be sent to the area simultaneously.
