For the first month of traffic restrictions after the border closures due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland responded to almost 70,000 inquiries by telephone and electronically.

The Ukrinform correspondent was informed by the head of the consular department of the Ukrainian embassy in Poland Svetlana Krys.

“From March 15 to April 15, the Embassy handled more than 6,000 electronic calls, ten 24-hour telephone lines answered more than 60,000 calls to mobile phones and more than 2.5,000 to landlines “Said the consul.

According to her, until April 7 (when Kiev imposed a ban on walking on the border), Ukrainian migrant workers were most interested in how to leave Poland under the current restrictions. After this date, Ukrainians are more likely to ask themselves such questions: how to return to Poland, how is observation in Ukraine, if it is mandatory, how to return home to Ukraine under limited public transport conditions.

Basically, Ukrainians who are in Poland under a visa-free regime contact the embassy for questions.

The head of the consular service of the Ukrainian embassy also noted that from March 15 to April 15, 20 documents were issued for the removal of coffins and urns in Ukraine. During this period, 28 certificates were also issued for the return of Ukrainian citizens to their homes due to the loss of documents.

According to the embassy, ​​during this period, nearly 170,000 migrant workers returned to Ukraine.
