Ukrainian intelligence attempt: two Russians sentenced to 7 and 8 years in prison
The Goloseevsky District Court in Kiev found two Russians guilty of a terrorist attack – the explosion of a Ukrainian intelligence car – and sentenced them to 7 and 8 years in prison.

“When he publicly accused prosecutors of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Goloseevsky district court in Kiev found two citizens of the Russian Federation guilty of attempted terrorist attacks, unlawful handling of weapons, military supplies and explosives and the use of false documents (part 3 of article 258, h 1 of article 263, part 4 of article 358 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. They were sentenced to 7 and 8 years of prison, “said the press service.
The court proved that on April 4, 2019, the convicts, performing the task of the special services of the aggressor country, attempted to place an explosive device under the car parked with a Ukrainian intelligence officer, however, the explosives detonated at the time of the installation.

It has been established that one of the perpetrators had previously been in the personal care of the Head of the Republic of Ingushetia, which is part of the Russian Federation, and had also been deputy head of his administration.
According to the prosecutor’s information, the assassination attempt was preceded by extensive and lengthy preparation, which notably involved the use of false passports and driving licenses of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, to monitor the locations and possible routes of the victim, to manufacture an improvised explosive device, to purchase firearms and ammunition. .
This case has been investigated by security officials.

As reported, on the night of April 4, 2019, a Chevrolet Evanda car exploded on Williams Street in the Goloseevsky district of Kiev. According to law enforcement officials, the explosives exploded during the installation, the demoman was seriously injured (his arm was ripped off), and he later died in hospital.
The car belonged to an intelligence officer. Over time, the media became aware that we were talking about an employee of the Intelligence Directorate General of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov.
On April 17, 2019, the intelligence service said that it considered General Dmitri Minaev, head of the department of the Russian federal security services, as the organizer of operations against Ukrainian intelligence officers. It has been reported that the Ukrainian security forces arrested seven people from the Russian special services group and another Ukrainian citizen who helped this group.
