Ukrainian journalist beaten for demonstrating in the United States
Voice of America journalist Khristina Shevchenko was attacked while filming a demonstration in the American city of Santa Monica.
According to Shevchenko on Facebook, the attack occurred when she turned into a plot for the Chastime program.
“My eyes darkened with a punch in the crown. I lost consciousness for several seconds and fell. A tripod with a camera also fell on my foot. I started to shout that I “Was the press and I managed to stand on one leg,” said the reporter.
She said the attacker – an African American – wanted to take the camera. There was no police.
Doctors diagnosed Shevchenko with a broken two toe and a minor head injury.
The reporter added that she had successfully photographed the attacker.
As noted, the riots have continued in the United States for a week. Curfews have been imposed in at least 40 cities and the National Guard has been involved in the fight against pogroms.

Protests broke out after the death of George Floyd, which occurred in Minneapolis on May 25. The police detained him while he was trying to pay in the store with a bank note that the vendors considered to be false. One of the cops pressed his head against the asphalt, pressing his knee against his throat, as a result of which Floyd died quickly.
