Ukraine is now participating in six United Nations peacekeeping operations, in which 313 peacekeepers will represent our country.

This is indicated in the congratulations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the International Day of Participants in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, posted on Facebook.

It should be noted that Ukraine has participated actively in United Nations operations since 1992. Our country was among the initiators of the drafting of the 1994 Convention on the safety of United Nations personnel and, in July 1995, it was one of the first to ratify it.

“Today, 313 peacekeepers represent Ukraine in 6 United Nations peacekeeping operations,” said the report.

In particular, 265 of our fellow citizens participate in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in DR Congo, 8 in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, 4 in the United Nations Interim Security Force in Abyei, 3 by the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo, United Nations Missions in South Sudan – 24 and the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali – 9.
