Ukrainians could end up without vaccines and drugs – Suprun
Due to the slowness of the Ministry of Health in purchasing drugs and medicines under public treatment programs, Ukrainians may be left without vaccines and drugs.
On this subject, Facebook wrote the former Minister of Health, Uliana Suprun.
“The purchase of drugs and medical devices as part of the budget programs is threatened! So far, around 10 billion hryvnia allocated for this purpose has not started to be used. This means that in the end this year, hundreds of thousands of patients cannot receive essential drugs because they simply will not, “wrote Suprun.
She noted that this applies to vaccines for vaccination according to the national immunization schedule, antiretroviral therapy for people living with HIV, drugs for people with tuberculosis, hepatitis B and C, cancer and cardiovascular disease and many other diseases.
“The fifth month of 2020 has already started, but the procurement process is blocked. Until now, no international organization has been selected to buy medicines, no agreement has been signed with them and the necessary documents for the start of the supply have not been approved – a list of drugs and budget passports for purchase programs “” wrote Suprun.

She added that neither former Minister Zoryana Skaletskaya, nor former Minister Ilya Emets, and now current Health Minister Maxim Stepanov, have started to address this issue.
As Ukrinform reported, the Ministry of Health has announced the debt of international purchasing organizations for the supply of medicines in the amount of 5.3 billion UAH.
