Ukrainians should increase media literacy – Tkachenko
In Ukraine, it is necessary to work on improving media literacy of citizens, to teach them to distinguish counterfeits from the truth, because it is important.
Ukrainian Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko said this on “Freedom of Expression” on ICTV, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.
“We will start talking about media literacy this year. It may sound scary, but it is a very important story that will allow us to distinguish counterfeits from facts at least at the consumer level and start to think critically. Because, whatever we do and how we have not fought, if we cannot consume ourselves the product which rises on us from all sides, nothing will protect us, “said Tkachenko.

According to him, the state now has many media outlets that allow themselves to abuse, distort the facts, spread counterfeits and use manipulation techniques, so that people should learn to distinguish all of this.
