Vaccination rate in Ukraine due to quarantine has decreased from 20 to 40% – Stepanov

Health Minister Maxim Stepanov says quarantine is no reason to ignore vaccinations and urges parents to vaccinate their children.
Stepanov wrote about it on Facebook.
“Quarantine is no reason to ignore vaccines. On the contrary! The example of the COVID-19 pandemic has once again proven the vital need to protect the body. And a better way than vaccination. has not yet been invented, “said the minister.
According to him, due to quarantine, the vaccination rate in Ukraine has “dropped considerably” – from 20 to 40% compared to the same period in 2019.
“At the same time, the reproduction index, for example, of COVID (R is the parameter that determines the number of people who can be infected with a particular virus) is 1.94–5.7, and mumps = 10 -12, measles = 12-18 “Imagine how quickly these viruses spread if collective immunity is not formed,” said Stepanov.

He called on all parents whose children have no contraindications to vaccination, “to go and protect their children according to the schedule”.
The Minister also called on heads of medical establishments and family physicians to maximize the awareness campaign on the relevance of vaccination and the availability of vaccines in clinics.
The Minister added that all the heads of the RSA and the heads of the health services are responsible for creating a safe environment for the vaccination process in the regions.

As noted, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced an adaptive quarantine model from May 22 to June 22 in Ukraine.
As of May 26, 21,584 cases of COVID-19 have been laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 339 in the past 24 hours.
