Western Union introduced a digital location service, which would allow consumers to send and receive money without leaving home.

The money transfer operator started a pilot telephone and video communication service in Austria, Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Oman. With its help, customers can contact an agent who will help in sending or receiving money transfers.

It has been reported that innovation is associated with the discovery of alternative ways of serving the company’s customers for the duration of the coronovirus epidemic. Hickam Ersek, president and CEO of Western Union, said the company’s demand for online services is due to the Kovid-19 outbreak among consumers.

Earlier, we wrote that due to the introduction of a nationwide quarantine, bank branches serve more than half the customers as usual, and a third more online. So, according to PrivantBank, in the first week of quarantine, the number of customers serving branches was reduced by 30 to 70% depending on the region. In general, the number of financial services consumers visiting bank branches has decreased by 54%.
