This was declared by the Director general of the Public Health Center Igor Kuzin at an information meeting, reports a correspondent from Ukrinform.
“Connection to an artificial pulmonary ventilation device occurs exclusively in the presence of a severe course of the disease or in the presence of certain indicators indicating that the level of oxygen saturation of the blood is insufficient and that the lungs cannot cope to their basic function. There are clear laboratory criteria and criteria regarding the patient’s condition, which They say you need to start connecting to the ventilator. If a person does not meet these criteria, they will not be connected to the ICU or intensive care unit until it has such indicators, “said Kuzin.

He noted that connecting to a ventilator is a complex procedure and that the risks of complications during mechanical ventilation are significant, so the decision will be made in each case separately. According to him, this will happen taking into account all the risks and the state of the disease in each patient, in accordance with existing clinical protocols.
