Zelensky: COVID-19 can be infected by up to 10% of Ukrainians if there are people at Easter

President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine now has a controlled situation with the number of people infected with the coronavirus, but in case of heavy congestion during the holidays, COVID-19 can be infected by 2 to 10% of the population.

He said this on the program “Savik Shuster Freedom of Expression”, reports a correspondent for Ukrinform.

“Now there are more than 4.5 thousand patients, of which 150 are fatal. What we see from analysts, from our doctors, we see every day. We see one thing: if there is a big congestion, a wave (of diseases – editor’s note) may appear right after Easter. And we can get frightening statistics: from 2 to 10% of the cases of the whole Ukrainian population, “said the president.

At the same time, the Head of State stressed that now the situation is “very well under control”, restrictive measures have been taken in time.

“Today we have a very good situation compared to Europe, with many countries,” he said.

In this regard, he stressed the importance of celebrating Easter at home.

“Because there can be a wave. We don’t have this wave yet, we don’t even have the first big wave, but you see they are already saying in the world that there is a second wave , maybe a third wave. No one knows when the coronavirus infection will die when it’s all over, “said Zelensky.
