President Vladimir Zelensky said he was closely monitoring the fire situation near Chernobyl.

Zelensky wrote about it on Facebook.

“I am closely monitoring the situation in the Chernobyl area. I know that the firefighters are doing everything they can. I am grateful for their courage. Tomorrow I will hear from the head of the State Service for emergency situations Ukrainian emergency Mykola Chechetkin on the fires. The conclusions will not be long in coming “, wrote the president.

He added that society should know the truth and be safe.

As indicated, in the Chernobyl exclusion zone and in the unconditional (compulsory) resettlement units of the state emergency services, in collaboration with the forest guard of the Ukrainian State Agency for the Management of exclusion zone, the fire was still extinguished on April 4.

Since April 13, the fire in the Kotovsky forest area has been eliminated. Grass soil and forest waste burn in separate fireplaces. The situation in the Korogodskoye lesnichestvo is being monitored and measures are being taken to locate this firing range.

The background radiation in Kiev and the Kiev region is within normal limits and does not exceed the natural background values ​​(Kiev – 0.011 mR / h, Kiev region – inside 0.012 mR / h with a background acceptable 0.05 mR / h).

In the exclusion zone and unconditional resettlement (mandatory), the power levels of the equivalent dose of gamma radiation have not changed (Chernobyl – 0.020 mR / h at an acceptable level of up to 0.055 mR / h).

On April 13, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 44.86 million UAH from the state budget reserve fund to implement measures related to the extinction of fires in the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
